Here are some of the things happening in nearby communities that our veterans are working on.

We see Veterans are a powerful force that can make anything happen that they put their minds to and their heart into. As you look over the items below, please consider as a veteran what you can do to come to the rescue of your community.

June 2011 - Ramp-A-Thon - Lakewood WA
VetsMeetVets encouraged Rebuilding Together to do our 1st wheel chair building event where our Veterans provided the labor and the Master Builders Association provided the leadership.  3 Veteran teams built wheel chair ramps for low income families around Joint Base Lewis McChord.  A Vietnam Veteran that had been homeless for many years said: "This changed my life and I'm again proud to say that I'm a Veteran!"

May 2009 - Krain Corner - Enumclaw WA
As our VetsMeetVets event team met for breakfast we learned that the Krain Corner would go out of business if customers did not show up.   As we talked with Karen the owner, her spouse (now deceased Korean War Veteran) and her had a dream to make this a place for the community. We immediately went into action and worked with her to create a flyer offering a discount to veterans and promised to let others know of the probable future of the Krain. We then shared it with our church and during interviews for our 5/16 event both KING 5 and FOX 13 chose to do a story on the Krain. See the press below:
